This class is the perfect opportunity to learn how to source fabrics, and draft patterns for women's swimwear in all sizes and especially to add the details that differentiate your designs from the rest.  You will learn how to produce an end product that's viable and market-related.

Thursday :
- Swimwear Basic Blocks
- Pattern according to a specific measurement
- Finding Textiles & finishes for your Design

Friday: 
- Finalizing the Pattern 
- Cutting
- Basic swimsuit Construction

Saturday:
- Hidden Support
- Sewing with specialist threads & elastics
- Professional finishing techniques
- Closures and embellishments

- Walk away with a swimsuit you made 
- Basic blocks and tips on how to achieve the perfect swimsuit fit
- Industry Contacts on Swimwear CMT production for both Women's & Menswear swimsuits.

- Please bring your own Stationery & Rulers.
- Your own overlocker and straight stitch Machine: Please contact Carina for details on the machinery available in our studio and what to bring along.
- You will buy your own swimsuit fabric and finishes

About your lecturer:
Carina Louw is one half of the www.erre-fashion.com team and obsessed with exploring niche markets such as Swimwear & Lingerie in South Africa. Over the years with fellow designer Natasha Jaume, Carina learned how to incorporate draping details into swimwear and how the foundation of inner support in swimwear & lingerie can be translated into evening wear.

Carina Louw also lectured in fashion for 10 years including the SA Fashion Week initiative 21 Steps to Retail with Edcon.
